Frequently Asked Questions
Why use a professional pet sitter?
When you give someone access to
your home and entrust them with the
care of your precious
pets, you want to be sure they are qualified, responsible,
and trustworthy. Professionals take this business seriously
and have insurance,
a license to do business,
references, and most importantly, experience with and
compassion for animals.
What are the advantages of
using a pet sitter versus a kennel?
Most pets are happier, healthier, and more
secure when in their own environment. There may be
times when boarding is best but pets usually
experience less stress when they are cared for in
their homes. Plus, you have the advantage of knowing
someone is keeping an eye on your home while you're
away.
What are the benefits of pet
massage?
In addition to inducing relaxation, pet massage helps to
relieve chronic pain
such as that caused by arthritis,
increases mobility and range of motion, and
increases
circulation.
Will anyone else be entering
my home?
No, except in case of extreme emergency. I do not
employ other pet sitters or
use independent contractors. If there should be
an emergency I would
make every effort to contact you before
arranging for another pet sitter
to come in.
What preparations do I need to
make?
Be certain to have extra food and medications on hand in
case you are
away longer than expected. I like to have two
bowls of water in different
locations in case one gets
spilled. For cats, please scoop litter boxes before
leaving.
Two litter boxes are preferable for multiple cats or two story
homes.
For dogs, make sure fencing and gates are in good
repair. Leave phone
numbers where you can be reached while
away.
