About
Me
My Neighborhood Pet Sitter was formed
in April 2004. A lifetime of loving and caring for
pets has led me to follow my heart and to provide this much
needed service. I gave up my corporate job and the two hour daily
commute that went with it to spend my days doing something I love.
As a pet owner myself, I know how hard it is to arrange care
of pets when you have to pack up and go. If you could leave
them at home in their own environment they would be much more
comfortable. You could have peace of mind and be able to focus on
your business or just have fun if you knew your pets were
being well taken care of by a professional pet sitter.
I had been caring for
animals all my life but I wanted to learn as much as I could
about pet care before starting a pet sitting business.
I did my
research. I studied training and behavior manuals
and veterinary books. I learned pet first aid and
volunteered at the Humane Society. I joined
professional organizations and networked with other
pet sitters. I talked to trainers and went to dog parks. I obtained liability
insurance, got my business license and turned in my
resignation.
I am still amazed how everything seemed to fall into
place once I took the leap.
For over two years now I have been providing this
service all over the Pasadena area. I have many wonderful
clients and have fallen in love with all kinds of furry
critters. What a joy to go to work every day and have my
"customers" so happy to see me!
Although my prices may be higher than some, I provide a
quality service and spend a lot of time with the animals. My
experience volunteering at the Pasadena Humane Society has
taught me so much about relating to dogs and making even timid
animals feel comfortable
around me.

a rewarding experience contact Sandy DeMarco at the
Pasadena Humane Society about volunteering).
